Umar Akmal Looking for Comeback in Pakistan Cricket Team
Umar Akmal, an experienced middle-order batsman, stated that he would be willing to represent the Pakistan cricket team again if given the chance.
Umar Akmal told the media that he is still working hard to achieve his return to the national team by improving his fitness and abilities.
“I am continuously training due to the ongoing camp at the academy where I am training,” he said. “My father-in-law built Qadir Academy, where I am training.”
“Fitness is an extremely essential aspect of cricket, so I spend the entire day training intensely.
In response to a query, he stated, “Of course, I am ready to play for Pakistan again if given the opportunity.”
Umar Akmal also commented on his prospective participation in the impending Lanka Premier League (LPL), stating that his selection depends on the franchises but expressing confidence in his ability to perform well.
Akmal stated, “It is up to them to sign me for the Lanka Premier League; if they do, I will give my all.”
Umar Akmal then commented on the National Cricket Academy’s (NCA) specialized camp for spinners, which is presently ongoing, and wished all the participants well.
“Players are exerting tremendous effort in camp. I have witnessed them exerting exertion despite the heat,” he said.
He concluded, “I hope these players are rewarded for their efforts.”
Umar Akmal last donned the Pakistan jersey in 2019 during the Twenty20 International against Sri Lanka at Gaddafi Stadium.
He was a consistent member of the Pakistan men’s cricket team from 2009 until 2016. In 16 Tests, 121 ODIs, and 84 T20Is for Pakistan, he amassed 5887 runs with the assistance of three centuries and 34 half-centuries.
