South Africa Interested in hosting IPL 2022

South Africa and Sri Lanka are Interested in hosting IPL 2022

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is trying its best to host the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Indian soil. Despite not being able to host on Indian soil, various Indian media outlets have reported that South Africa and Sri Lanka are likely to host IPL 2022. Meanwhile, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has expressed its interest in hosting the IPL 15.

The BCCI has announced that the 15th edition of the IPL 2022 Live will be held on Indian soil. However, due to the current cowardly situation, the issue is being reconsidered by the BCCI.

That is why the BCCI has started looking for alternatives in organizing the IPL. Alternatives include South Africa and Sri Lanka.

According to various Indian media, the CSA has already started talks with the BCCI to host the IPL on South African soil. The BCCI hosted the last two editions of the IPL in the United Arab Emirates due to the coronavirus epidemic. That is why the BCCI wants to hold the event outside the UAE in a different place.

Earlier, the BCCI hosted the second edition of the 2009 IPL in South Africa. With that experience, they are interested in organizing IPL again.

The CSA also said that hosting the IPL in South Africa instead of the UAE would significantly reduce the cost of franchises. In this regard, they said that South Africa is suitable for hosting the IPL.

Meanwhile, the BCCI wants to set up four venues in any state to host the IPL on Indian soil. In this case, Maharashtra will be dominant, according to the Indian media. Because Maharashtra alone has four international standard stadiums within walking distance.
