Sandeep Lamichhane Named the Captain of Nepal Cricket Team

Nepal Cricket Team Association has given the big responsibility of leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane as he is named as the new captain of Nepal Cricket Team. At just 21 years old, Sandeep Lamichhane will lead the Nepal National Cricket Team.

Gyanendra Malla and Dipendra Singh were the captains and co-captains of the Nepal national team respectively. Malla has scored a half-century in Nepal’s last two ODIs. On the other hand, Dipendra Singh was in great rhythm in T20. Even after that, Nepal Cricket has removed them from the responsibility.

Cricketers have been scrambling for a deal with the Nepal Cricket Association for several days. Gyanendra Malla and Dipendra Singh are playing the biggest role behind this. This is the main reason why Nepal Cricket has removed them from responsibility.

Sandeep Lamichhane’s experience as a captain is not new. Sandeep Lamichhane was Nepal’s captain in the 2016 Under-19 Asia Cup. He also captained the team in the World Cup qualifiers the following year.

He also has experience of captaining in franchise cricket. Sandeep Lamichhane led the Kathmandu Kings to the Everest Premier League.
