Mustafizur Rahman Became Sixth Bowler to take 100 T20I Wickets

After Shakib Al Hasan, pacer Mustafizur Rahman became the second bowler of Bangladesh and the sixth bowler in the world to take 100 wickets in T20I cricket. Mustafizur Rahman reached the milestone of 100 wickets in the third and final T20 of the three-match series against England at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Tuesday (March 14).

Before the start of the T20 series against England, Mustafizur Rahman had 97 wickets in 78 matches. Mustafizur Rahman completed 100 catches with 1 wicket in 3 matches. Mustafiz played 81 matches for this. The left-arm pacer made his T20 debut against Pakistan in April 2015 in Mirpur.

Tiger captain Shakib became the first Bangladeshi to take 100 wickets in T20 in this format. Shakib has 131 wickets in 112 matches. Apart from Shakib-Mostafiz, New Zealand’s Tim Southee (134) and Ish Sodhi (114), Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan (126) and Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinger (107) have 100 wickets in T20.

Bangladesh made history with Mustafiz’s 100th wicket in the match. Bangladesh has achieved the glory of whitewashing the world champion England cricket team in the T20 format. Earlier, the Tamim Iqbal-led Bangladesh team lost 2-1 in the three-match ODI series. However, the Tigers turned around from the last match of the ODI series.
