Mohammad Rizwan to Play for Sussex in English County Cricket in 2022
Mohammad Rizwan had a great year with the bat, as a result, he was called up to English county club Sussex. The wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan will play for Sussex in county cricket in 2022.
Sussex have named Mohammad Rizwan in the squad for the 2022 County Championship and T20 Blast. The county club have named Ben Brown as their replacement.
Mohammad Rizwan will return to England County in 2022 after completing his home tour of Australia. He will play there until mid-July. The Sussex club have recruited him mainly for the T20 Blast.
Only Mohammad Rizwan and a few other Pakistani cricketers will be in the non-county. Opener Shane Masood will play for County Club Derbyshire, left-arm spinning all-rounder Zafar Gohar will play for Gloucestershire and Shahin Shah Afridi will be seen in the Middlesex jersey.
Former Pakistan legends Mushtaq Ahmed and Saqlain Mushtaq played county cricket for Sussex. The two cricketers have also worked for Sussex as coaches. Saqlain Mushtaq is the current coach of Pakistan. It is through him that Sussex recruited Rizwan.
Mohammad Rizwan has scored 455 runs at an average of 45.50 in 9 Tests this year. He also became the first batsman to score 2,000 runs in a calendar year in T20. He became the first batsman to reach the record of 1000 runs in International Twenty20.
