Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, and Other Pakistani Players to Play in Canada Global T20 League 2023
Shahid Afridi, Muhammad Rizwan, Shoaib Malik, and other Pakistani cricketers will be participating in the Canada Global T20 League, which runs from July 20 to August 6, 2023.
Shahid Afridi was selected as the franchise’s marquee player by the Toronto Nationals of the Global T20 League. In his most recent Legends League Cricket (LLC) appearance, he led Asia Lions to the championship.
He last appeared for Quetta Gladiators in the seventh season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). However, his time with the 2019 champions was brief, as Shahid Afridi withdrew from the remainder of the competition due to health concerns.
The veteran all-rounder announced on his YouTube channel that he will no longer participate in the PSL 7. While proclaiming his retirement, Shahid Afridi stated that he desired to conclude the mega event on a high note, but his health and fitness prevented him from extending his career.
“I wished to conclude the PSL on a high note, but my endurance has run out. He stated, “My groin, waist, and toes have all given up.”
“I have been suffering from a lower back injury for quite some time, and I believe health is everything,” he continued.
Shahid Afridi participated in the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) following his retirement from the prestigious league before joining the star-studded LLC in Qatar. In addition to Afridi, veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik has been signed by the Mississauga Panthers as their marquee player for the Global T20 League.
Mohammad Rizwan, the current wicketkeeper for Pakistan, will also play for the Vancouver Knights in the third edition of the Canadian division. Iftikhar Ahmed, Abdullah Shafique, Azam Khan, and Zaman Khan are a few other prominent Pakistani players who will be participating in the Global T20 League.
