Jofra Archer Left IPL 2023 and Returned Home

The 16th season of IPL was not pleasant for Jofra Archer. This long-bodied bowler has been struggling with injuries for a long time. Jofra Archer left the ongoing IPL 2023 due to injury concerns and returned home. The news of Archer’s return to the country was announced by his team Mumbai Indians in a statement on Tuesday.

Mumbai will enter the field today without Archer. Opponent Royal Challengers Bangalore. Mumbai will play against Virat Kohli-Faf du Plessis at home at night. The former five-time IPL champions will suffer a little if Archer is not available in this important match. Although this world champion pacer did not play five matches in the current season.

Archer overcame injury in this year’s IPL and played a total of 5 matches. The right-handed pacer managed to take only 2 wickets at an average of 95 in 5 matches and an economy rate of 9.5 per over. Meanwhile, Mumbai lost their third pacer in this tournament. Rohit Sharma’s team will be without Jasprit Bumrah, Jhai Richardson for the entire tournament. This time they will miss Archer’s service.

On Tuesday, the Mumbai franchise announced the name of Archer’s replacement on social media. They have taken the World Cup winner Chris Jordan in the team. Mumbai wrote, ‘Archer’s recovery and fitness is being monitored by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). He will return to the country to focus on his rehabilitation.’
