Jaydev Unadkat Returns to India ODI Team After 10 Years
Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India released a statement announcing the 18-man squad for the ODI series against Australia (February 19). Where Jaydev Unadkat Returns to India ODI Team After 10 Years as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah who has not recovered from the injury.
In July 2013, Unadkat made his debut with the Indian national team in a 50-over competition at the age of 21. In the second game of his debut against Zimbabwe, he also drew notice by claiming four wickets for 41 runs. Captured eight wickets in the five-match series.
Two straight matches without a wicket against Australia and West Indies. After five months, Unadkat was axed from India’s ODI team. But, this runner did not quit. After a decade of flourishing in local cricket, he returned to the Test team against Bangladesh last year and is now back in the ODI team as well.
In the meanwhile, Rohit Sharma will miss the opening ODI against Australia owing to family obligations. But will participate in the following two games. In his absence, Hardik Pandya will lead India in the opening match.
