Hardik Pandya Fined for Breaching IPL Code of Conduct 2023
The BCCI has fined Hardik Pandya 25% of his match money for breaching the IPL 2023 code of conduct. This is the 16th season of the event, and Pandya is the third captain to be penalized for the over-rate infraction, after Faf du Plessis and Sanju Samson.
Defending champions Gujarat Titans took on Punjab Kings at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Thursday. Hardik Pandya’s team won by 6 wickets with 1 ball to spare in Mohit Sharma’s brilliant comeback. Even though the team won, Hardik Pandya, captain of the Gujarat Titans, was penalized for failing to deliver 20 overs within the allotted time.
GT chased 154 and won by 6 wickets. On Sunday, April 16th, at Narendra Modi Stadium, the Gujarat Titans will play the Rajasthan Royals. Against PBKS, the reigning champions Shubman Gill and Mohit Sharma shone as the game’s top performers.
Mohit grabbed two wickets while Gill scored fifty. Mohit’s winning bowling performance earned him the match’s MVP award. According to the IPL code of conduct, the first time caught at a slow over rate is the minimum penalty of INR 12 lakh.
