PSL 2022: Faheem Ashraf Scored 55 Runs to Rescue his Team Against IU Vs QG PSL 7 Match 18. After Shahid Afridi’s heroics helped Quetta Gladiators make a spectacular comeback in the middle overs of the game, Faheem Ashraf struck 55 runs to save Islamabad United.
To assist United to reach 199-8 in 20 overs, the left-handed batter hit five boundaries and four sixes in his 55 run off 28 balls. On Saturday, United was put in to bat first in the 18th edition of the super league at Gaddafi Stadium.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Alex Hales opened the innings in Paul Stirling’s absence, making 48 runs together. Hales and Stirling’s earlier starts in the event were very different from this one.
In the midst of all, Hales was able to keep the scoreboard ticking and assist United to rack up a total of 100 in just 10 overs. He was out for 62 off 38 balls, which included four boundaries and as many sixes as he could muster up.
Afridi got the Gladiators back on track with two wickets in a row and a run-out. While registering an incredible comeback, his spellbinding numbers of 2-27 also enabled Gladiators to decrease United from 100-1 to 109-6 in no time.
James Faulkner and Noor Ahmed both contributed a wicket each in the middle overs to help the bowling maestro seize control of United. Faulkner finished with a stat line of 2 for 2. In addition to Ashraf and Mohammad Wasim Jr, the two-time PSL champions finished strongly with two sixes off two balls.
