PAK vs AUS 2022: CA And PCB Denounce Death Threats Against Ashton Agar. Australian cricketer Ashton Agar has been the target of a death threat, according to Cricket Australia (CA) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
For the first time in over two decades, Australia is making a trip to Pakistan. Since the team’s arrival in Pakistan a few days ago, the players have been assured of their safety. According to a story in the Sydney Morning Herald, Agar’s spouse had received a death threat via a social media account. The authorities issued a statement addressing the same issue.
This social media post has been investigated by the PCB, CA, and combined government security agencies,” said Cricket Australia. This type of social media activity is not considered a problem because of the substantial security measures in place. “At this time, no other comment will be provided,” stated the statement.
In an interview with ESPNcricinfo, Australian Test skipper Pat Cummins discussed the environment and reception he received upon arriving in Pakistan. In his words, the PCB is taking excellent care of the players, and they are at ease right now.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board has done a fantastic job of protecting us and making us feel at ease.” Upon arrival, there was an abundance of security personnel. “We stepped off the plane and immediately checked into our hotel.”
Except for games and training, we’ll be confined to the hotel. We’ve got a good setup. Having so many experts around us is reassuring, and we’re fortunate to have such a supportive community, Cummins said.
