Bangladesh T20 World Cup Squad 2022 Announced
Bangladesh has announced the squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 excluding Mahmudullah Riyad. As usual, Shakib Al Hasan is the captain of the Tigers in the best 20-over cricket tournament to be held in Australia.
Shakib Al Hasan’s deputy in the Asia Cup, Nurul Hasan Sohan has returned from injury to sit in the co-captain chair in the World Cup. Liton Kumar Das, Yasir Ali Chowdhury Rabbi, Kazi Nurul Hasan Sohan, and Hasan Mahamudra, who were not in the Asia Cup, are expected to return to the original squad of 15 members.
Apart from Mahmudullah Riyad, Mohammad Naeem Sheikh, Enamul Haque Bijay, and Parvez Hossain Imon have also dropped out. Mushfiqur Rahim, who announced his retirement after the Asia Cup, was not considered for good reason.
However, apart from any remarkable performance in the recent past, left-handed top-order batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto has become a surprise in the squad. Shariful Islam, Rishad Hossain, Sheikh Mehedi Hasan and Soumya Sarkar are on standby. This squad will play in New Zealand in the tri-series. Where Pakistan is without a host and Bangladesh.
