Aakash Chopra Wants Jasprit Bumrah To Skip IPL 2023
Jasprit Bumrah has been out of the national team since September last year due to injury. The 2022 Asia Cup and T20 World Cup are also missing the current Australia series. However, this pacer is waiting to return to the IPL after recovering from a back injury. However, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra wants Jasprit Bumrah to skip the IPL 2023 if necessary.
After making his debut for Mumbai Indians in the 2013 IPL, Jasprit Bumrah has played 120 matches so far, taking 145 wickets. According to Akash, if the BCCI wants to get Bumrah fully fit for international cricket, then he needs to be careful about playing in the IPL.
“You are an India player first, then a franchise team. So if Bumrah is even that uncomfortable, then BCCI should not allow him to play in IPL. The world won’t be destroyed if he doesn’t play seven matches with Jofra Archer” – Akash in an interview with ‘Sportskida’
The right-arm pacer is currently training under the National Cricket Association (NCA) of India. If you get a letter mark in the fitness test there, you will get a no-objection letter (NOC) to play in IPL.
